PH888 Ludo Game Rules: Classic Board Play and Ludo Quick

A ludo game is a race: two to four players each move four tokens round the board by the roll of one die, and the first to bring all four home wins.

Andar Bahar rules in short: the dealer turns up a house card, you bet on Andar or Bahar, then cards are dealt one at a time to the two piles until one matches the house card's rank.

PH888 13 Card Game
In the 13 cards game known as Chinese poker or Pusoy, you split your 13 cards into a back hand of 5, a middle hand of 5 and a front hand of 3.

A ludo game is one of the few titles in a casino Cards lane that most Filipino players learned as children, which makes it a comfortable first pick. The online version keeps the board and the die and speeds everything up. It sits alongside poker hands and dice games on the card games list for the Cards tab, which explains how each kind pays.

Ludo rules: the classic board game

The traditional rules, as the standard reference sets them out:

  1. Two to four players each take four tokens of one colour, starting in a corner yard.
  2. One die decides every move.
  3. A six moves a token from the yard onto its starting square.
  4. A six also earns another roll, but a third six in a row passes the turn.
  5. Tokens move clockwise by the number rolled.
  6. Landing on an opponent’s token sends it home; its owner needs a six to re-enter.
  7. You must roll the exact number to reach the finish, and the first player with all four tokens home wins.

Squares in your own home column are safe, because no opponent can enter them.

Ludo Quick on PH888

JILI’s Ludo Quick sits in the PH888 Cards tab. JILI’s own page describes it as traditional flying chess in a fast version for four players, played on a single die, with two additions:

FeatureWhat JILI says it does
Special chance cardsnew card functions that can change the course of a game
Money Bagan extra gameplay feature for added excitement

JILI lists its type as Indian Poker, with zero paylines, published in November 2022. The game’s own rules screen explains how chance cards trigger and how the Money Bag pays, so read it before your first round. JILI’s studio profile is on the JILI studio profile.

Ludo online versus the board

Playing online changes three things:

  1. Speed — the software moves tokens and checks rules instantly, so rounds finish in minutes.
  2. Stakes — a casino version attaches money to the result, so set a per-round stake first.
  3. Opponents — you cannot see the other seats, so play the board, not the player.

Choosing your move

The die is luck; which token you move is your choice:

  1. Bring a second token out early so one bad roll does not stall you.
  2. Keep tokens more than 6 squares ahead of an opponent where you can, out of reach of one roll.
  3. Use your home column as a refuge. If you prefer a game where arrangement rather than dice decides, the 13 cards hand-order page covers Pusoy, and the big small dice game is the quickest dice bet on the tab.

FAQ

How do you start a token in ludo?

In the traditional rules you need a six to move a token from its yard onto its starting square. Without a six and with no token in play, the turn passes.

What is Ludo Quick?

It is JILI's fast version of the game, listed in the PH888 Cards tab. JILI describes it as a four-player flying-chess race on a single die with chance cards and a Money Bag feature.

Can you capture in ludo?

Yes. Landing on an opponent's token sends it back home, and its owner needs a six to bring it out again. Tokens in your own home column are safe.
