PH888 Big Small Game: Totals, Triples and the Odds
The big small game throws three dice.
- PH888 Andar Bahar Rules
- Andar Bahar rules in short: the dealer turns up a house card, you bet on Andar or Bahar, then cards are dealt one at a time to the two piles until one matches the house card's rank.
- PH888 Ludo Game Rules
- A ludo game is a race: two to four players each move four tokens round the board by the roll of one die, and the first to bring all four home wins.
- PH888 13 Card Game
- In the 13 cards game known as Chinese poker or Pusoy, you split your 13 cards into a back hand of 5, a middle hand of 5 and a front hand of 3.
The big small game is the simplest bet on a casino Cards lane: three dice, one total, and a choice between two halves of the range. On PH888 you will find WG’s Big & Small in the Cards tab and Sic Bo from WG and KY, which carry the same two bets among many others. The casino card games list places it among the dice games.
How the big small dice game reads three dice
Per the published sic bo rules:
| Bet | Wins on | Loses on | Pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | totals 4 to 10 | 11 to 17, and any triple | 1 to 1 |
| Big | totals 11 to 17 | 4 to 10, and any triple | 1 to 1 |
The lowest possible total is 3 and the highest 18, but those are triples (three ones, three sixes), so neither appears in the Small or Big range.
The 216 throws, counted
Three dice give 6 × 6 × 6 = 216 equally likely throws.
- Six of them are triples, one for each number.
- That leaves 210, split evenly: 105 Small and 105 Big.
- So each bet wins 105 times in 216, a 48.61% chance.
- At 1 to 1, the expected loss is the gap: 216 minus 210, divided by 216, which is 2.78% of each stake.
That 2.78% matches the house edge the Wizard of Odds lists for Big and Small. The house edge definition shows the same sum for other games.
Sic bo big small versus the full table
A full sic bo layout adds dozens of other bets: specific totals, specific doubles and triples, single numbers and combinations, each with its own payout and edge. JILI’s Big Small page adds ranking systems and a jackpot on top of the basic bet. Whatever the version, the Big and Small bets keep the same 105-in-216 maths, so the rules screen is where you check payouts on everything else.
Playing it sensibly
Rounds are fast and the bet is even money, which makes it easy to over-play. Before you start:
- Pick a stake per round.
- Pick a number of rounds, for example 20.
- Never raise the stake to win back a loss. For a slower game where your choices matter, try the ludo game format, or read the andar bahar rules for another quick two-sided bet.
FAQ
What counts as Big in the big small game?
A three-dice total from 11 to 17, unless the throw is a triple. Small is 4 to 10, again except for triples.
Why does a triple lose?
The rules exclude three of a kind from both Big and Small. That rule is where the house edge comes from on an even-money bet.
Is Big Small the same as Sic Bo?
Big and Small are two of the bets in Sic Bo. A Big Small game offers mainly those two bets on the same three dice.
